Jacob Cloer, Associate Pastor of Discipleship
Jacob joined the staff of Englewood in March of 2013. He was saved at the age of 16 and surrendered his life to the call of ministry at the age of 17. He graduated from North Greenville University with a BA degree in 2005. Jacob married Melissa in the summer of ’05. Their first son, Michael, was born in 2007, just two days after their second anniversary. 6 weeks later they moved to Memphis, TN so that Jacob could attend Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated from Mid America with his Master of Divinity degree in May of 2010. Jacob and Melissa’s second child, Gideon, was born two days later. Jacob was called to be the youth pastor at the First Baptist Church of Athens, TN in the Fall of 2010. After 13 years serving the Lord in youth ministry, the Lord has called Jacob to Englewood to be the Associate Pastor of Discipleship. Their third child, Sophia was born in November 2013. His responsibilities include leading the Bible Fellowship Groups, Small Group Discipleship, and Men and Women’s Ministries.
Jacob’s desires to see lost people surrender their life to Christ by repentance and faith, to see saved people growing in their relationship with Christ through discipleship, to see disciples become disciple makers, and to do all of the above through relationships. His bases that ministry philosophy on 2 Timothy 2:2, “and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

A farm girl born and raised in Northwest Ohio, “Ms. Kris” accepted Christ as her Savior and Lord at the age of 9, primarily due to the influence of her godly grandmother.
Kristin brings to the Weekday Preschool program decades of experience in teaching, leading, administration, and curriculum development for both children and adults. God has carried her through a life filled with deep valleys, and He has used those life experiences, especially as a single-again parent, to develop a deep understanding of – – and an even deeper compassion for – – the joys and challenges of parenting and now, grandparenting!
Her desire is to faithfully serve her precious, loving Savior by serving in the Weekday Preschool and music ministries here. In addition, she serves as facilitator for the women’s DivorceCare ministry. The effervescent joy of Jesus bubbles in and through everything she does.
Ms. Kris’ family includes her older son, TJ, and his wife, Kathryn, and new grandson, Seeley, all from Cary. Her younger son, Nathan, and his fiancé, Seandra, currently reside in Canton, OH.
