“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

WHO WE ARE

Englewood’s Special Needs Ministry, “His Friends,” exists to love and serve Jesus Christ by facilitating children with special needs and their families to become full participants and contributors in the body of Christ,

We believe that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to worship, learn, and serve in our church, regardless of their abilities. We seek to transform lives through personal relationships and a foundation of trust that will extend to trusting in Christ. We are committed to flexibility, knowing that each child is different and wonderfully made.

 – To intentionally share the Good News of Jesus Christ with children who have special needs and help them grow in their faith.
– To integrate children with special needs and their families into the life of the church.
– To welcome, support, and include the families of those with members who have special needs into the fellowship of Englewood Baptist Church.
– To reach out to the community and provide a safe and loving environment where children with special needs can worship God and learn about Jesus Christ.
– To nurture each child’s individual skills and abilities while learning about the Christian faith.
– To provide an opportunity for children with special needs to learn about God’s love in a way that is accessible to them.

WHAT WE OFFER
Sunday Morning Bible Fellowship
Each Sunday morning, our His Friends ministry meets in rooms L102 & L104 to study the Word of God and fellowship with one another. Our teachers have a desire to do whatever it takes to share Biblical truths to the precious members of this class.

Wednesday Evening Awana
Each Wednesday evening (from September to May), special needs children have the opportunity to attend Awana with a one-on-one shadow called a “special buddy.” It is our desire to integrate the members of the “His Friends” Ministry into the life of the church, and involvement in Awana is a vital part of that vision.
